DR. EMILY FISHER-GENTRY
Dr. Emily Fisher-Gentry grew up in Bourbonnais where she attended Maternity B. V.M. grade school and Bishop McNamara Catholic High School. In 2005, after graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she ventured west to pursue her optometry career at the University of California, Berkeley. While attending Berkeley, Dr. Emily served as Optometry Student Body President and completed an internship at the internationally renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
In 2010, after receiving her optometry degree, Dr. Emily returned to the area to practice with her father, local ophthalmologist, Dr. Marc Fisher, founder of Fisher-Swale Nicholson Eye Center in Bourbonnais. Having been mentored by the best in the area, this experience further prepared her to treat and manage ocular disease as well as co-manage surgical patients.
Fisher-Gentry Eye Care was established in 2013.
Dr. Emily and her husband Matthew Gentry live in Manteno with their children. Dr. Emily is a member of the Manteno Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Village Planning Board.

DR. GREGORY MACAGBA
Dr. Gregory Macagba joined Fisher-Gentry Eye Care in 2018. Having earned his optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, he is board certified by the National Board of Examiners.
No stranger to the area, Dr. Macagba was born and raised in Bourbonnais. He comes from a family of musicians and doctors who also practice in the area. Dr. Macagba attended Maternity B.V.M. grade school and Bishop McNamara high school. He graduated from the University of Illinois where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Community Health with a minor in chemistry. While attending optometric school, he completed externships in Chicago, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Austin, Texas as well as Wenzhou, China. While in China, he had the opportunity to train with several leading specialists in retina and refractive surgery at one of China’s top medical hospitals, Wenzhou Medical College Eye Hospital. Dr. Macagba is passionate about optometry and is excited to begin his career at Fisher-Gentry Eye Care and to serve the community of his hometown.

Dr. Claire Sanders
Dr. Claire Fisher Sanders joins Fisher-Gentry Eye Care in July 2021. Claire grew up in the area and attended Bishop McNamara schools. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2011. While studying there she participated in Unite For Sight, a program that partners with local eye clinics abroad and provides eye care to those in need. She volunteered in Ghana and it was there that she realized that her father was right – not only is the sense of sight interesting to learn about but also a rewarding profession to serve others. This experience motivated her to follow in her big sister’s footsteps and enroll at the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated suma cum laude. Dr. Claire then moved to Kansas City where she completed a residency specializing in ocular disease and vision rehabilitation at the Kansas City VAMC. Before joining Dr. Emily’s practice she continued working at the VA Hospital and a private practice in the Kansas City area.
Dr. Claire strives to make every patient experience one to be remembered. One of the many reasons she loves her job is the opportunity it presents to meet so many people and get to know them. She looks forward to providing compassion and care for your family. Additionally, she has a life long desire to learn so she can make good clinical decisions for her patients.
Dr. Claire resides in Manteno and enjoys spending her free time praying, exercising, baking, coffee drinking and growing micro-greens with her husband Ty and two sons Theodore and John-Paul.
Tamika
Tamika is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician. She assists the doctors with the preliminary aspects of the eye examination. Tamika has over 20 years of experience in the eye care field. Her engaging personality creates a memorable patient experience.
Missy
Missy is our primary optician. She has had over 15 years of eye care experience. Missy provides valuable advice on frame and lens selections. Her friendly smile, patience, and attention to detail provide a wonderful patient experience. Missy enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Megan
Megan has worked in many aspects of eye care for over 10 years. She serves our patients by scheduling appointments, determining insurance eligibility, and submitting insurance claims. We can always count on Megan to go above and beyond to help patients with their questions.
Alex
Alex has worked for Fisher-Gentry Eye Care since 2020. Her primary role is assisting our doctors with computer documentation during the examination. Additionally, Alex teaches our patients the ins and outs of contact lenses. She enjoys shopping and spending time with friends.
Allison
Allison has worked in customer service for 6 years. She is one of the first smiling faces that greet you as you enter our office. Her skills include scheduling appointments, checking on insurance benefits, and helping our patients pick out the perfect pair of glasses. She enjoys traveling with friends and family and spending time outdoors.
Christie
Christie pleasantly greets our patients when they call or come to our office. Her quick smile, friendliness, and attention to detail serve our patients well. With fifteen years of customer service experience, Christie is a great team member.
In her free time, she likes to play and watch sports with her four children. She is also an avid crocheter and crafter.
