About Us



Dr. Emily Fisher-Gentry grew up in Bourbonnais where she attended Maternity B. V.M. grade school and Bishop McNamara Catholic High School. In 2005, after graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she ventured west to pursue her optometry career at the University of California, Berkeley. While attending Berkeley, Dr. Emily served as Optometry Student Body President and completed an internship at the internationally renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

In 2010, after receiving her optometry degree, Dr. Emily returned to the area to practice with her father, local ophthalmologist, Dr. Marc Fisher, founder of Fisher-Swale Nicholson Eye Center in Bourbonnais. Having been mentored by the best in the area, this experience further prepared her to treat and manage ocular disease as well as co-manage surgical patients.

Fisher-Gentry Eye Care was established in 2013.

Dr. Emily and her husband Matthew Gentry live in Manteno with their children. Dr. Emily is a member of the Manteno Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Village Planning Board.

Dr. Gregory Macagba

Dr. Gregory Macagba joined Fisher-Gentry Eye Care in 2018. Having earned his optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, he is board certified by the National Board of Examiners.

No stranger to the area, Dr. Macagba was born and raised in Bourbonnais. He comes from a family of musicians and doctors who also practice in the area. Dr. Macagba attended Maternity B.V.M. grade school and Bishop McNamara high school. He graduated from the University of Illinois where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Community Health with a minor in chemistry. While attending optometric school, he completed externships in Chicago, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Austin, Texas as well as Wenzhou, China. While in China, he had the opportunity to train with several leading specialists in retina and refractive surgery at one of China's top medical hospitals, Wenzhou Medical College Eye Hospital. Dr. Macagba is passionate about optometry and is excited to begin his career at Fisher-Gentry Eye Care and to serve the community of his hometown.

Teresa is the first person who will greet you when you visit or call our office. Her smile is contagious and we are happy she has joined our practice. In addition to giving patients great customer service, Teresa schedules appointments, authorizes insurances and assists with accounting. Teresa lives in Bourbonnais with her family.


Beth is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician, who has worked in the eye care field for over 20 years. She brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the practice. Beth performs all of the pre-exam vision testing procedures as well as other specialized test for glaucoma and macular degeneration. She also serves as our contact lens educator, and manages our contact lens inventory. Beth is an invaluable asset to the practice. She lives in Herscher with her family.


Tracie is our primary optician. She has worked in the eye care industry for 15 years and is great at what she does. As a first rate optician, she understands both fashion and the technical aspects of glasses. Tracie will guide you in the best frame selection and lens options to meet your needs. Tracie Lives in Grant Park with her husband and three children.

Tamika comes to Fisher-Gentry Eye Care with over 20 years of eye care experience. She is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician with multiple skills. Along with her engaging personality, she also serves as our Community Outreach Coordinator. Tamika lives in Kankakee with her husband and children.
