OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

Tamika is a Certified Ophthalmic Technician. She assists the doctors with the preliminary aspects of the eye examination. Tamika has over 20 years of experience in the eye care field. Her engaging personality creates a memorable patient experience.

OPTICIAN

Missy is our primary optician. She has had over 15 years of eye care experience. Missy provides valuable advice on frame and lens selections. Her friendly smile, patience, and attention to detail provide a wonderful patient experience. Missy enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

BILLING COORDINATOR

Megan has worked in many aspects of eye care for over 10 years. She serves our patients by scheduling appointments, determining insurance eligibility, and submitting insurance claims. We can always count on Megan to go above and beyond to help patients with their questions.

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN

Tammy is a COA certificatied Technician, who started in our practice in 2023. Her primary role is getting the patients ready for the doctor, but she also helps out the front desk and optical when needed. Tammy has an Associate degree and is very knowledgeable, which is no surprise given that she has been working in the industry since 2000! She is very patient with children and likes to help people with their eyes. Her hobbies include going to the smokey mountains, cooking, spending time with family and granddaughters.

INSURANCE COORDINATOR

Janine’s primary objectives in the practice are vision billing and problem solving. She has a Medical Billing Certification from Joliet Junior College, and is also willing and is able to help out in any position when needed. Janine is a friendly and knowledgeable team player, who has been working in the eyecare space since 2008, and who utilizes software to make the office run efficiently. Her hobbies include reading, working out and volunteering.

Sue has worked in the optical field for 17 years and recently returned after taking time off to raise her family. She is now part of this incredible team, and really enjoys the positive, supportive environment here at Fisher-Gentry Eye Care. She is happy to be back doing what she loves and continuing to learn and grow in this field.  Her quiet and calm demeanor puts her patients at ease.  When she is not at work she enjoys music, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Alexis entered the optometry field in the fall of 2024 and recently began her journey as an optician- her favorite role so far. Every day, she finds fulfillment in helping patients see clearly and feel confident in their eyewear. After graduating high school in 2019, she spent four years in retail, working her way up to a management position. That experience taught her the value of great service, leadership, and community connection. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with patients and making a positive impact through her work. Outside of the office, she is an animal lover and loves to spend time outdoors.  

Kathi has joined our practice after retiring from a 30 year career as a radiology technologist in the Cardiac Cath Laboratory. Besides working at our office, she runs the Samuel R Myers foundation for suicide and mental health awareness and takes care of her family. She enjoys hiking, reading, serving in her church, and spending time with her family.  Kathi’s positive attitude and smiling face will be the first thing to greet you when you check into your appointment! She helps our front desk run smoothly by answering phones, making appointments, and answering any other questions patients may have.

Sheila is a Certified Healthcare Virtual Assistant & a Registered Radiologic Technologist. She assists patients with appointment scheduling and verifying patients’ medical insurance benefits. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology at the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines.  She previously worked at government and private hospital facilities for over 7 years. Her active listening, good communication skills, patience, and positive spirit help her deliver efficient and quality service to everyone. Outside of work, she leads young people in her local church organization, loves singing and cooking, as well as spending quality time with her family.

HEALTHCARE VIRTUAL SCRIBE

John is our Virtual Scribe! He started at our practice in 2023, and is a Certified Healthcare Virtual Assistant and a Registered Pharmacist in the Philippines. He assists doctors by documenting the details of patient encounters remotely, in the electronic health record (EHR) in real-time. He earned his degree in pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas, and previously worked in a pharmaceutical laboratory where he honed his analytical skills. By actively listening to the key details patients provide, like medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans, he helps doctors to give their full attention to the patient and provide quality care. In addition, he also sends medications and referral letters. John’s hobbies include cycling, spending time with his friends, and building Gundam model kits.
